Die „Philippine Madrigal Singers“ wurden von der UNESCO als Künstler für den Frieden ausgezeichnet, weil sie „zur Förderung der kulturellen Vielfalt, des interkulturellen Dialogs und einer Friedenskultur“ beitragen. Sie haben weltweit bei vielen renommierten Chorwettbewerben Preise gewonnen, darunter den Grand Prix beim Concurso Internazionale di Guido d' Arezzo 2016 in Arezzo, Italien, und sogar zweimal den prestigeträchtigen Europäischen Grand Prix für Chorgesang (1997 und 2007). Die Virtuosität der Gruppe, die kontinuierliche Förderung philippinischer Chorwerke und die mitreißende und tief emotionale Wirkung auf das weltweite Publikum haben ihren Ruf als bahnbrechende Kraft in der Chormusik und als inspirierendes Vorbild für andere Chöre begründet. Die „Philippine Madrigal Singers“ wurden 1963 gegründet und zeigen bis heute, dass Chormusik gesellschaftlich relevant sein kann und einen Wandel bewirkt. Im Jahr 2024 wurde der Chor von den Philippinen zur „National Performing Arts Company for Choral Music“ ernannt. Nach einem ersten Auftritt am 26. Juni kommen Sie nun im Rahmen des Kulturprogramms der Philippinen als Ehrengast der Frankfurter Buchmesse ein zweites Mal in die ROMANFABRIK und werden am 18. Oktober gemeinsam mit den Song Weavers Philippines und dem Bariton Jonathan Zaens zu erleben sein.

The Philippine Madrigal Singers have been recognised by UNESCO as Artists for Peace for their contribution to ‘the promotion of cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and a culture of peace.’ They have won prizes at many prestigious choral competitions around the world, including the Grand Prix at the Concurso Internazionale di Guido d'Arezzo 2016 in Arezzo, Italy, and even twice at the prestigious European Grand Prix for Choral Singing (1997 and 2007). The group's virtuosity, its continuous promotion of Filipino choral works and its rousing and deeply emotional impact on audiences worldwide have established its reputation as a pioneering force in choral music and an inspiring role model for other choirs. The Philippine Madrigal Singers were founded in 1963 and continue to demonstrate that choral music can be socially relevant and bring about change. In 2024, the choir was named the "National Performing Arts Company for Choral Music"by the Philippines. After a first performance on 26 June, they will now return to the ROMANFABRIK for a second time as guests of honour at the Frankfurt Book Fair as part of the Philippines' cultural programme and will perform on 18 October together with the Song Weavers Philippines and baritone Jonathan Zaens.
